| These commemorative cachet envelopes feature the special First Day Issue cancellation issued by the United States Post Office in Washington DC. The Korean War Memorial stamp commemorates the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War. The commemorative envelope also honors the 60th anniversary of the Tuskegee Airmen and the 100th Anniversary of Flight. The Wright Flyer stamp was hand cancelled on September 20, 2003, the day Colonel Lee Archer and Captain Roscoe Brown signed the envelopes in San Diego, California. “Ina The Macon Belle”, a P-51B Mustang, was flown by Colonel Lee Archer when he was assigned to the 302nd Fighter Squadron, 322nd Fighter Group, known as the famous Tuskegee Airmen. He is an ace, having shot down five enemy fighters. He flew 169 combat missions and also flew in the Korean War. Captain Roscoe Brown flew “Bunnie”, a P-51C, when he was assigned to the 100th Fighter Squadron, 322nd Fighter Group. He was the first pilot in the 15th Air Force to shoot down an ME-262 jet fighter. Both received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Col. Archer received 12 Air Medal and Capt. Brown received 8 Air Medals. Colonel Lee Archer, Captain Roscoe Brown, and artist John R.
