| This special commemorative cachet envelope features the special First Day Issue cancellation issued by the United States Post Office in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The special cancellation design celebrates the American Advances in Aviation stamp series. The cover features two North American P-51 Mustangs, flown by Fighter Aces Urban Drew and Donald Cummings. These two Aces are the only fighter pilots in history to shoot down two Luftwaffe Me 262 jets while flying a single mission. |

| On October 7, 1944, Urban Drew shot down two Me 262 jets while flying P-51 Mustang 44-14164, which he named “Detroit Miss”. Urban Drew was assigned to the 375th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group. He had 6 air-to-air and 1 air-to-ground victories. Urban Drew was awarded the Air Force Cross, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and 14 Air Medals. On February 25, 1945, Donald Cummings shot down two Me 262 jets while flying P-51 Mustang 44-15192, which he named “My Kitten”. Donald Cummings was assigned to the 38th Fighter Squadron, 55th Fighter Group. He had 6.5 air-to-air victories, and flew 150 combat missions. He was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and 20 Air Medals. | ||
