"Messerschmitt Bf-109G - Kurt Schulze"

Oberleutnant Kurt Schulze flew Messerschmitt Bf-109G number 5 (specifications), when he was assigned in 1944 to Jagdgeschwader 8.JG5, which was stationed 200 miles north of the Artic Circle at Petsamo, Finland.

Progressive stages of painting development.

1. Drew the plane outline. Painted black
on wheels, propeller, spinner, and iron
cross marking. Painted in base gray color
on the fuselage. Added the exhaust pipes
and then painted in the underside
of the fuselage and wings.
2. Painted dark gray camouflage over
a light gray base on the fuselage. Then
painted the panel lines, added highlights,
shadows, and finished the cockpit.
Added the 5, and covered with paper.
Drew in the squadron logo and painted it.
 
3. I showed the painting to Mr. Schulze, who made final comments for minor corrections.
Incorporated his comments, and signed the painting. He signed the finished painting.
