F-6F Hellcat Specifications

The Grumman F6F Hellcat was produced by Grumman Aerospace to improve upon the F4F Wildcat for the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The F6F was the second largest single engine fighter of World War II, only slightly smaller than the P-47 Thunderbolt. In the hands of capable Navy and Marine Corps fighter pilots, it was credited with destroying over 5,000 enemy aircraft for a 19-to-1 loss ratio, and produced many Aces.
